Survival Training at Swimming

During the last couple of days of swimming, we learnt some survival and rescue tips in the pool. Here are a couple of videos to show what we were doing.

Dog Safe comes to Parkview

Kym from Dog Safe came to school last Thursday. She and Jake gave us some great advice on being safe around dogs and their general care. 

Remember:

1) Always ask the owner before you approach a new dog. 

2) Make your hand into a rock shape. 

3) Tickle chin or chest area. 

4) Direct eye contact for some dogs is a no-no. They see it as a threat. 

5) Never ever tease a dog.

Wow!! Check out the classes amazing kowhawhai patterns done with a modern edge. Kowhaiwhai were originally used in wharenui to record history and tribal genealogy but they also look really cool and artful. Well done guys!!!
